I follow a fusion of Design Thinking process popularized by IDEO with Value Proposition Design from Strategyzer. I find it very important to identify customer segments and jobs they need to get done (JTBD). Not only functional but also emotional and social. Focusing on pains and gains also gives a lot of insights into what product offerings can make their experience great.
The Discovery mode of the design process is about providing clarity and focus to the design space. It’s my chance as a design intellectual to define the challenge based on content, and knowledge of the client
It’s important at this stage to avoid deep thinking of design or special features, user experience, or even the technology stack. At the beginning of a project, I focus on understanding the brief – and the best way to really understand is to undertake research and ask your client questions!
The basic elements of creativity are copying, transforming and combining. I strongly believe copying, transforming and combining are the fundamental building blocks of all original ideas, and that creative work can only take root and grow when the design canvas has been prepared by these three critical elements
This part of the design process involves producing an early, inexpensive and scaled down version of the final product in order to reveal any problems with the current design

I’m pretty much a full stack nerd; playing videos games, reading books or watching movies. But when I’m not designing or nerding out, you will find me at the gym, playing guitar or at the fresh food markets sourcing the best cooking ingredients.
